We would be amiss if we did not recognize the tremendous support we receive daily from the following great patriotic Americans! The Most Honorable James B. Peake - Secretary of Veterans Affairs A St. Louis, MO native who graduated from West Point, served with honor in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division, awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star with “V” device and the Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster, then became a Doctor and retired as a Lieutenant General, earning many, many distinguished awards and becoming the Surgeon General of the United States......Who else could we have but “one of our own” to be our Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The United States is blessed to have such a man continually serving us with honor. We salute you, most honorable Secretary and stand by to serve you. US Veterans in Oregon - especially from Salem, OR to Brookings, OR have been blessed to have as our Director of VAMC Roseburg, Dr. Susan Yeager and her Chief of staff, Dr. Jamie Buth. They have continued the great tradition of service and support that the VAMC Hospital in Roseburg has provided to us veterans over the years. John Wallace - As the Finance Manager has one of the toughest jobs at VAMC Roseburg. Trying to give us Veterans all the support that he can on the very, very limited budget the VA has to work with. The compassion and care he throws into his job does not go unnoticed. Bill Smith - Manager of Volunteer Services. This amazing individual who has to rely mainly on all of us for funds to be provided for over 20 special programs for our troops, veterans and their families, including the veterans hospice program, is dedicated to this task, unselfeshly.
